I have tried to run certain programs, say msconfig, and I am stopped because
I need to be the administrator to run this program. I am the owner and
administrator of this system(verified in user accounts), but it still rejects
me even when I am so signed in.
So far I have only noticed it with run "msconfig' only; I ran 'cmd' and it
was ok;
The error message is: "SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY. An access denied error
was returned while attempting to change a service (Note: I only tried to run
msconfig and never got to it). You may need to log on using an
administrative account to make the specified changes"
I looked at the hyperlink and it solved my problem. I too use Zone Alarm.
When i shut it off, I could run msconfig. I solved the problem by opening
Zone Alarm, going to programs and finding system configuration. I changed its
trust level from restricted to trusted(left mouse click).
You're welcome, and nice to know it worked for you. One more tip in the arsenal
