Was there a software bundle installed with the scanner, does the scanner
have a function do send a scanned image directly to your e-mail program.
When you say new, is the scanner new to you or was it new purchased at
retail? What scanner, make and model, have you checked with the scanner
manufacturer's tech support, have you checked the scanner manufacturer's
website for updated drivers. Even if the scanner or any hardware was
purchased brand new, the drivers that are supplied in the box might be
dated. There's no way of knowing how long the device was on the shelf
before sold or how long it sat in a warehouse before being placed on the
retail shelf so it's always best to check for the latest drivers.
