Won't let me "End Process"

(sorry this is a duplicate post, but wasn't sure which forum would be best)

Hi All,
I am having a problem with my Norton AntiVirus LiveUpdate. To fix this
problem, I am supposed to terminate the process "LUCOMS~1.EXE". I am unable
to do this, and since this seems to be a problem in Task Manager, I am
guessing it is a Windows issue...?

What happens: In Task Manager I select the above process, hit "End Process",
and get the Warning box ("Are you sure you want to end this process?"). When
I click "Yes", it returns me to the same Task Manager screen, with the LUCOMS
process still listed. This just keeps happening. If I close and reopen Task
Manager, it's also still there.

I Re-started the computer; no LUCOMS process until I tried again to run
LiveUpdate (which now hangs in "initializing"). Before I proceed with any
Symantec support (hanging in initializing), I'm guessing I'll need to fix the
problem with ending the process LUCOMS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Task mgr isnt always the best place to edit a service, try going to run,
type:services.msc Scroll to the service (LUCOMS),double click,select,
disable or manual from auto, end service, close out.
