wont except and run any CD's....

A friend of mine has a Sony monitor running Windows 98. Her tower is a Compac Clarion ( sp ? ).
When you try to put in a CD....any kind..like one to install AOL , or a game, or even a music CD.....nothing happens. It will not start any CD up...and when you go to RUN..and type F:\SETUP....... ( have tried setup.exe also. IT shows in MY COMPUTER that that CD drive is a F....but I also tried C and D..... same things happened )
They do not have internet.
an error message pops up saying this...........

Cannot find file .. F:\SETUP or one of its components. Make sure path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available.

Any thoughts on this problem ????
 
Sounds like the CD Drive is not working. Check the cables and device manager in the Control Panel/ performance and maintenance/system folder. Check to see if the CD has any errors. Hope this helps.
