Won't connect to net after sleep

I have a LAN connection that works fine when I first
start XP, however after logging back in after the
computer goes to sleep I can no longer see the net. I
still seem to connected as the computer has the right IP
and can be pinged, but explore does not work - can not
find any web sites. Any thoughts???
