Won't allow me to create a new report in Access database

Trying to create new reports in an existing database as well as a new
database we have just completed. Have tried using both report Wizard and
design view to create the report. When we try the report wizard it allows us
to walk through all of the steps to select options. When you click finish it
returns a message "The wizard is unable to create your report". When you
click on design view to build the report nothing happens. Have just recently
installed Adobe Acrobat 7.0 on the computer. Prior to this everything semed
to work fine.
