i have a sheet that fills in colums if one of the cells
has a certain value in it like this =IF(A1="DEB",R24,"")

Which put the value in or R24 if A1 = deb Which workd fine
BUT is there a way to copy that cells color as well as the value in there?

you can't copy the colour using a worksheet function. But you could use
conditional formatting.

For example, select cell K4, choose Format | Conditional formatting. For
condition 1, select "Formula is" from the drop down box. In the next box,
put:

=$I4="paypal" and press the "Format ..." button. Pick a colour. Press OK
or choose other conditions. You can have up to 3 conditions and formats.

Copy the formatting to other cells. Note the column is fixed but the row is
not.

If you need the colour to change for all 5 options, you'll need to set up a
worksheet change event.
