WMV won't convert on YouTube

A general question, if I may.

Some weeks ago I made a movie with Windows Moviemaker, saved it to my
computer as a WMV file, and successfully and easily uploaded it to YouTube.

Today, I've tried more than five times to upload another WMV movie, one that
fits within the YouTube parameters of size etc., and every blinking time I
get a "cannot convert" error message from YouTube even though their site says
WMV is the preferred choice.

Can I assume the problem is on the YouTube end or is it possible when saving
as a WMV file on Windows the file is somehow corrupted? Anyone else having
this issue?

Thanks,

John, thanks so much. "Patches" worked as advertised, and after seven tries, the last using your info, the video went up. You see a million of 'em I'm sure, but if you can hack one more, here's the URL for a brief video tour of the River Artist's work.

Thank you again, very much, for your help.
