wmv. problem with cat 6.3?

Just upgraded drivers from 5.10 with control panel to 6.3
with ccc. Everything else works fine, dvd's, mpeg's etc but I can no longer
play wmv files. Sound works but video is all garbled.
Vido card is ATI x800xl on asus a8n-e mobo. Running on win xp pro sp2.
I read another post that suggested "enableing windows media video
acceleration" but I don't know how to do that.
Any ideas?
