I just tried the program this week - ALL week - simple, I thought. Take all
the pics from the big party, add music and send it to everybody who was here
and family who couldn't make it... not. the finished file was nearly 5 mg,
but when I saved it as a movie, it ballooned to 15 mg! I tried converting it
to avi. then it was 25 mg. Who knew? obviously not I. I can't email it,
can't even put it on photobucket - it stops at 61%. i am at a loss with
this. Do you think it would decrease the file size if I took the individual
photos into Photoshop and reduced them? I considered that, but the 4mg is
way smaller than the combined total of the pics, so I assumed the program
compressed it already.. AARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone help me? thanks in advance!

Try uploading the file to the following
site and send your recipients the link
for downloading it.

"YouSendIt"
http://www.yousendit.com/

All you have to do is enter an e-mail
address in the "To:" (Recipient) field
and click the "Browse" button to select
the file you wish to upload. Then click
the "Send It" button.

The next screen that appears will give
you the download link. Just copy/paste
it into the message to your recipients
who can download and view the file on
their computer.

Just a little extra info over John's.

When you use pictures to make a movie, they change... they are no longer a
single picture but can be 25 or 30 frames per second movies, so a 5 second
showing of a picture is now up to 150 frames or single pictures!!!!!
Not that this makes the file sizes large, as they change file type.

Basically, a picture is a picture a movie is a movie, an apple is an apple
and an orange is an orange, but both are round in shape!!!

When saving a movie the length of it makes a big difference to it's file
size. 5 mins will be about half the size of 10 mins.

Movie maker has an option to save ready for emailing, did you choose this
one? when you choose an option MM will tell you about what size the
finished file will be, pick the option which gives you the size you need.

Remember smaller sizes mean lower quality.

thank you. Yes, I checked that but it was still over 2mg, more than emails
allow and the quality got so poor it was difficult to see anything! Posting
to that site was great 14 mg translated to a 20 second download they could
all enjoy. Sure is a different animal from working with print graphics! if I
ever get serious, I'll probably see what Adobe has.

thanks again!
