I receive emails from friends with an attachment of wmv. The error tells me
it is missing a Codec. Have no clue what this means and do not know the
original source of the attachement. I have Windows XP Pro

A codec is software that provides the ability to COmpress and DECompress
a media file. If you don't have the required codec for your media file,
it won't play properly or at all.

GSpot establishes what codecs (audio and video) required to play a given
media file. You can download GSpot here:
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

/Always/ scan email attachments for malware before opening them.
