I'm new with this computer but i did understand i needed to close my mail so
that the Clear outbox button would work and i did that and still the email
is stuck in my outbox. I have used each button in order and i had no zero
messages to clean up, but the one email will not delete, and WMUtil didn't
clear it either. I'm not sure what else to do and neither HP or norton or
that program seems to fix this. If anyone else has any ideas i would be
greatful for them.

Thanks

I'm surprised the clear outbox function did not work.

It could well be Norton that is causing your problem.
Replace it with Avast with email scanning excluded
and try the utility again.

This is a tough one, only happened with Vista and I have been on the net for
13 years. Outlook Express would never do this, why they replaced a perfect
program with this vista window mail, I sure don't know, figuring it out, I
think, we are doing their work , that they should have done, before
initiating the programs. Turn off, or restart your computer. Then just go
to internet explorer, no further. Minimize. Click, activate Windows
Explorer, open wmutil, click open, on "application". NOW, CLICK ON "compact
data base", WAIT UNTIL IT HAS DONE IT'S JOB. NEXT, CLICK ON "repair data
base", WAIT UNTIL IT HAS DONE IT'S JOB. then, CLICK ON, "clear outbox"
WAIT UNTIL IT HAS DONE IT'S JOB. it should tell you the outbox is cleared,
AFTER IT IS FINISHED!!!!! OK, that's it, it is all just button pushing, and
Patience, pacience? my spelling sucks, senility. Good luck, come back and
let me know how it worked out, Patience, is the key, don't get upset, or in
an extreme hurry, this goofy little program, WMUtil, will work for most of
you, just take your time. OK, good luck, Pappeeo
