WMP9 playing DVD's

It seems that WMP9 on W2k can not play a DVD even though I
have powerDVD installed. It will play DVD's through the
PowerDVD software however.

The same setup on a XP platform allows WMP9 to play DVD's.

On the media player toolbar under PLAY on the W2k
platform, CD Audio is the only selection possible....
Whereas on the XP platorm under PLAY there is a selection
to play DVD, VCD or CD Audio....

So the question is can WMP9 on W2k play a DVD?
