I'd like to know where the Windows Media Player MRU list is in the registry.
I could always find it in Windows 98, but for some reason I can't find it
now. Thanks.

Here, for WMP8:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\RecentFileList]
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSaveMR
U]
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\LastVisite
dMRU]

Handy utility to do this. Use MRUClean (~40k) and clear the entries.
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/MRUClean.exe
[Clears WMP, DAP, Common Dialog box, Find Files, Recent Docs, Typed URLs,
Excel, Word, Winzip, Real Player, Google Toolbar history, Netmeeting Call
History]

"Ramesh;
Where'd you get the link? I clicked
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/MRUClean.exe
and right away it wanted to download. Where is this coming from? Pulling the
link apart, I see http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/
upon further investigation, I see http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/ .
Your home page. I added it to my favorites. I just didn't like not being
able to look at something, before I decide whether or not I want to download
it. ;o) I have downloaded MRUClean.exe. Thank you for the tip.
Wes

I learned through experimentation that there is an option under Tools |
Options | Privacy to delete the MRU from within WMP, but I appreciate the
info about the registry keys.

Hi Ramesh;
Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. ;o)
How's the weather in India? Fall here in Colorado. Leaves are all colors.
Lots of golds and reds. Gonna snow soon. Already been down to 28 degrees F at
night. Brr!!
Have used MRUClean, works better than ClearRecent.
Thanks,
Wes
