Hi everyone,
I am running xpsp2 and have WMP version 10.
I need some help. My WMP is acting very erratic at best, and I am getting
very frustrated trying to play the free radio stations on
http://www.omninternet.com/radio/radio.asp.
It used to play some stations and now it will not. It plays some stations
intermittently (sometimes it will connect to them and sometimes not).
Currently, I have not been able to play anything new at all, it seems.
Whatever I click (I usually try to play oldies type music from
60's/70's/80's) from various states in the USA, it keeps giving me an error
message "WMP can not play any of the files", or something like that. And
then it says there is no information for that error message if you click go
to web.
It also does some other squirrly things like locking up (and I have to end
task) when I try to click something on in my library list. Yesterday I was
playing a great oldies station I just tried from Illinois and it played a
song and then quit about a minute later (and kept doing it repeatedly on
retries - it didn't lock up, it just quit playing the song). The only thing
that seems to play consistently now is my bnet radio oldies in Houston (and
even that acts up sometimes, but it is playing okay right now).
As a test, could you please tell me if any of you can play the following
two Texas stations - I used to play them for at least two weeks and they
worked fine - good stations if you like oldies. Now they will not connect
at all (I just get the error message when I try to play them).

If you can play them please let me know. If not, then there must be some
kind of corruption with my WMP, or the free Internet radio has a lot of
glitches in it. If it could be a corrupted WMP, then please advise me on
what I can do to fix the problem. What happens if you uncheck WMP in the
windows components list in add/remove programs - does that just disable it
but it is still on your hard drive - I never understood what unchecking the
items does in the components list - please explain that also if you can.
Sorry this was a bit long. Thank you.
