WMM shots down

Hello,
I have a brand new PC with very high specs. I can start WMM 5.1 but as soon
as I start adding clips to the time-line the program shots itself down -
gives no errors - just gone! I have tried with small clips and larger ones -
same thing happens. I have installed all updates available from MS. At time I
do manage to add two clips before WMM dies.
I hope someone can help here. But please - don't write a novel as I see at
so other posts here. I'm not interested in spending hours on solving this. In
that case I'd rather make it an issue for MS - which it should be anyway.

5.1 is your version of Windows XP...
Movie Maker is ver: 2.1.

Some users have problems importing .mpg
files instead of .avi or .wmv. Also on some
systems...issues can develop if you import
..jpgs instead of .bmps.

Maybe you have an issue with your video
driver...have you checked the mfg's website
for an update? (Just because a computer is
new doesn't insure that all drivers are the
most current)

Have you checked Papajohn's website?
