Since 2004, I've made more than 100 movies lasting in duration from 6 minutes
to 50 minutes in length with this copy of WMM. All are stored on a separate
hard drive, as is most of the raw video I've used to make them, and most of
the old program files have been deleted. I'm running XP Service Pack 3 on a
Dell Pentium 4 1.80GHz with 768 MB of RAM, and have an 80 GB hard drive with
about 49 GB free. When I open WMM, the screen goes blank for nearly a minute
before the program returns and runs. It's very slow and I have to edit very
deliberately and save frequently. Sometimes it takes from 30 seconds to a
minute to complete a save. And sometimes the program freezes entirely and
some work is lost, although not frequently. Am I exceeding the capabilities
of the program? Have I damaged the software in some way? Can I reload WMM
without losing existing unfinished projects?
