Hi all:

2 quick questions.....

i) is there a way to seperate the preview pane and move
it to a second monitor display? I would obviously require
a second or dual video card and an additional monitor. Is
this possible for WMM 2?

ii) I read something recently about a conflict in
operable state of the Firewire port on the CL SB Audigy
sound card when using WMM 2. I'm interested in this card
as it would add Firewire to my computer. If not, its new
computer time.....

Why buy a new computer when you could buy a cheap PCI firewire card???

Hello there,

Can't answer your second question. Except to say I have heard the output from
those cards...and they are great. Mine is the Live! 5.1 which is also pretty
cool.

I use dual monitors from time to time. You cannot split MM to work on two
monitors (or...at least I can't get it to happen). You could set Media Player
to work on the second monitor and MM2 on the first. I'm not in a position at
the moment to give you the exact instructions that would work for me I'm
waiting for my room to be sorted out prior to connecting everything up again.
In any case I don't think that's what you are really after.

You could always have a look at the details of nView on the NVidia web site,
that might give you some help.

Hi there,

1. Drag whole program to monitor 2 but leave a little on monitor 1
2. Select clip to be played
3. Select the small arrow bottom right of preview screen and make the preview
full screen
4. Drag the program back to monitor 1

It works but if you select another clip from the collection it leaves monitor 2
black and goes to full screen on Monitor 1.....its not really a practical
situation.

Well its like this, the SB Audigy could do the trick for
me right now...bonus is that it has the Firewire port. I
just need to ascertain if it will work with MM 2 (the
firewire on the board specifically).

Since I have a 1.0 Ghz Celeron and no onboard Firewire
capability, I figured this would be a quick upgrade path
with a "win, win" on two fronts...

I have tried to up the RAM once already, but there was a
compatability issue with that. Currently, I have 256mb
SDRAM, and would like to max out at 512mb SDRAM. Still
trying to succeed on that front...maybe a different
manufacturer....

There is not much upgrade gain on the Celeron (370pin
genere) maybe 1.3Ghz or 1.4 Ghz max, not really worth
it...

To go to a larger Intel Pentium or an AMD CPU, I would be
changing out the $ CPU, $ MB, $ Power supply, I would
want a $ larger case etcetra, etcetra... new computer....

So in the end, If I could do some things quickly and
painlessly, (the SB Audigy) I will. If not...new computer
time and this baby can stay around checking e-mail, and
the web............

The new computer route sounds like the most fun of the two options ;-)
