Yes, I can insert them, but they don't make any sound - wav's work, but not
the wma's - they did before.
I'm using Windows XP and Powerpoint 2003.
I've read the article about Powerpoint and multimedia several times, and
still have problems.
Three weeks ago, I started installing .wma files in a powerpoint file. It
worked for 2 weeks. Then I recorded something with sound recorder just 2
days ago and inserted it into the same slide as the wma's. I was able to
hear the wav, but not the wma. The wma's just don't play anymore (not even
in a new file).
I have unsuccessfully tried (as much as possible) everything in the article
to try to fix it.
I tried the "mplay32.exe" and they played correctly, but not in the PPT
pres.
I uninstalled Real Player.
I did the regedit thing and everything looks right.
I even tried changing the system.ini and win.ini files (even though this
is xp).
I looked up the codec stuff (under control panel / system / hardware tab
/ device manager / sound, video and game controllers), and it looks okay.
I even restarted in "safe mode" and tried it - it doesn't work.
I know I installed QuickTime just last week (which is probably the most
likely culprit since I was able to play wma's thru ppt, but I'm not 100%
sure), and I've now uninstalled it completely.
I really don't know where to go from here.
