Hello;

I just clean installed XP Pro two weeks ago. I had XP Home.
wlnotify.dll = Common DLL to receive Winlogon notifications.
I had wlnotify.dll set to run at startup.
It displayed extra tidbits like wlnotify.dll, playing startup sound, etc.
I made no note of how I accomplished this. :-(
I have searched all over and can't find anything.
Help.

Wes

Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system

Look in the right pane for VerboseStatus If it exists, double click it and set its value to 1. If not, right click in a blank area of the right pane, select New, DWord value and name it VerboseStatus. Set its value to 1.

Doug;

That's the ticket! Thank you very much.
I had to create VerboseStatus. I like to
read [[Playing logon sound]] before it happens. :o)

I only use Start | Run | regedit
if I want it to open to where I might've left off with
something. Otherwise I use a shortcut to regopen.vbs a nifty little
deal I got from your web site. ;o)

I have made a note of this tweak this time.

Thanks again.
