Im having problems installing a DWL-650+ on my portable computer thats
running windows 2000. Iv tried to download the latest drivers from d-link's
web pages but still no luck. I'v followed the manual every step of the way
but still cant get it to work. I'v even tried to install it manualy from the
control panel with the 'have disk' option but when choosing the inf file
from the driver directory windows doesn't fint any device(s) The Card itself
works fine, iv tested it on my mothers portable thats running Windows XP but
for some strange reason i cant get it working in w2k. I'v tried everything i
could think of so i decided to post here to hear if anyone have simmular
problems or know how i can solve em

Are you sure you installed the correct drivers? There are two different
models of DWL-650, and A and B and they take different drivers. Go to the
trouble shooting section on D-Link's website about the DWL-650. It
describes the problem and tells how to tell the difference between the two
cards and download the correct driver. I know I had same problem this
Monday. Also, the Microsoft update page has new driver for this card. When
I installed it the card works but with X through the status icon. I had to
reinstall the drivers I downloaded from D-Links website to fix.

its a 650+ i im prety sure i installed the correct drivers, anyway iv tried
the drivers supplied with the D-link as well and they dont work either.
Windows update hasn't found any new drivers that i can download and install.
but i can try again when i come home from work today

hi
iv dobble checked the drivers are correct, and i know that the slot works
because iv tested it with windows XP, but i cant get it to work in windows
2000, i think there might be some bug in windows 2000 or with my asus L2000D
that prevent me from using the PCMIA slott
because no matter what i do i cant get the laptop to detect the device not
even as 'other devices'
