Can anyone help me with this???? I try to open a new file in microsoft word
2000 and it comes up with the error box that says, "This application has
failed to start because WkWbl.dll was not found. Re-installing may fix this
problem."
-- I have tried 4 times to reinstall and it always says the same thing not
to mention there was a fatal error when reinstalling. Also I have noticed
that everthing that I have saved when using microsoft word is now all
incrypted or something, I cant read it. Looks alot like wingding writing. My
sister had been on here downloading lots of new stuff and now it doesnt work.
ANY help would be so greatly appreciated. I need to get into it pretty bad.
Please please please help!!!!!
Please understand not everyone knows even the simple things.

Bill was asking you if you have `Microsoft Works 2000` installed on your
computer - a software suite which (among other things), includes Microsoft
Word . Windows XP is your OS (Operating System). That is to say. The base
system which Mr Gates very nicely designed for us to make all those wonderful
things happen on your computer. That is to say, `until things go wrong` ;)
Then we have a problem. My advice would be to ask someone who has a
reasonable knowledge of Windows and how it works to assist you with your
problem. Meanwhile here is a URL where you or they can download the required
file:

However. Life is never easy and it may not be so easy to replace depending
on whether or not Windows is using it at the time. That`s another story.

One final thing. This forum is dedicated specifically to Windows Defender
(an antispyware program) issues and perhaps you would be better assisted by
posting your problem here:

Hi Misty

I assume you have the original CD for office 2000. I would uninstall office
2000 via add/remove programs. If the uninstaller fails, then goto the
OpenOffice section, otherwise run Microsoft Cleanup at the following site:

http://safety.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

Reboot (restart you system). Then try to install office again. If it
installs ok, then try to open the word document. If that works ok, then go
to Windows Update and look around and use the option to convert to Microsoft
Update. Now run Microsoft Update to get the office 2000 updates. Again test
the word document.

If all this fails, do a search (Google, MSN, whatever): OpenOffice

OpenOffice.org can read you existing Word documents. It is free and can
live side by side with your Microsoft Office products. Install
OpenOffice.org. I am not advocating OpenOffice over Microsoft Office. I am
just trying to get you going until you can get a resolution for your problem.
