With the intro of the CAT divers, which do you find more influential(AFA gaming), the display properties 'open GL' and 'DX'
settings.... 3rd party tweaks...ATI control panel, or the game settings within the game itself?

IMHO, 3rd party tweaks are more trouble than they're worth. The Cats control
all the functions you need and compliment the game settings well. Basically,
I crank up the game settings as far as they'll go or until they start to
noticeably slow down gameplay, then fine-tune the eye candy with the AA and
AF settings in the driver tabs.

I have a fairly potent system, a 3.3g P4 with a 9700 Pro, and I find that
running a res lower than the max, usually 1024x768, and turning on 4X AA and
8X AF gives me a good balance of looks and speed in most games.
