Windows XP Wireless Zero configuration; Error 1068

Hi, I've purchased a wireless network adapter and trying to get a signal from a router. From Services.msc, I'm trying to Start the Wireless Zero Configuration, but gives me the following error message:
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.

Please, help!

Have you got the latest service packs for WinXP? Download SP2 if you don't have it already, as that will help things

Did you try the things MS suggested on this page?:

MS suggestions didn't help. My pc is up to date with SP2 on it. The software provided by adapter doesn't work properly. When uninstalled, Windows doesn't want to show available wireless networks, says to use the adapter software.

Tried that last night. All the services were already started.
