Hi Gang,
Anybody have a solution for DHCP/Vista to a Linksys 300N?

Everything works great wired. DHCP, no problems.

I have the latest Intel driver for my 2200b/g adapter.

It's a Dell Inspiron 6000 notebook.
I also have DHCP issues at my office, it's way way too difficult to make
sure it's AP is up to date, we just have too many of them to go around.

I've tried various encryptions, including none, just because.

No difference.

I do have the latest updates to the 300N as well. 1.03.something.... The
linksys is on the MS list as being Vista compatible.

I have run the Internet Connection wizard, thingy. The only one that
doesn't seem to pass is the UPNP which is turned on for my router.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,
Nick

UPnP will pass if you disable Windows Firewall. I have the same router as
you but I am wired with Vista and have no problems. My son is wireless with
XP and has no problems connecting. Can a XP laptop connect to it? Does Vista
see your wireless router?

I have a similar, related problem. I'm using the 150N router and works OK
with wireless devices. I installed the 300N USB adapter on my Vista machine
and downloaded the Vista drivers. All appeared OK except that connectivity
is horrible. When I check link status the speed jumps back and forth between
1MB and 270MB. If I test Internet connection speed it clocks in at about
250KB on cable. If I put my DLink USB g connector back in it stays a steady
56MB and my Internet connection speed is 4.5-5.0 MB as it normally is. I had
Linksys on the line for hours and tried everything. Strange thing is that
the signal strength stays at max and the speed varies. The router and PC are
only about 10 feet apart.
