Help!

I have just upgraded my wireless card on my COmpaq
Presario 1500 laptop running XP to one that will support
all 802.11 frequenices. However, I need to be able to get
to my configuration wizrd to change my SSID, and my
computer is currently not allowing me to do that.

How can I make it so I can access my wireless card
configuration from Windows?

Confused D-Link User

I also use the D-Link, mine is the DI-624. You should be
able to log into your D-Link router by the default
address 192.168.0.1 unless you already changed it from
that. Change your SSID to whatever you want and then
save your changes. Just to be sure reboot your router
and your computer. Your wireless card should
automatically find all available networks within range.
double click your netowrk connection to see the available
networks then click the network you want to connect too.

Good Luck,

Jim

Open services and scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration Service,
Start the service and set it to automatic. If it does not show in the
list of Services:

run regedit and find

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WZCSVC

add a DWORD entry named "Start" and
value "2"

don't use the DLink utility after you do this.
