Wireless problem with Windows XP and non-XP boxes mapping to it

I have a difficult situation... so here goes...

I have a cable modem tied to my router and 3 computers behind it that share files and internet access. Two computers are windows 2k and then I have a windows XP laptop that is wireless. Here is the problem:

1. The windows 2k computers can ping the address of the laptop and get a response
2. The windows XP laptop can map and use share drives on either of the two wired connections
3. The windows 2k boxes cannot map drives to the XP laptop i.e. "Path not found"
4. When I put a hardwire to the laptop, it can be mapped by the other computers [bingo, its in the wireless setup somewhere?].
5. Neither the firewall or ICS on the laptop is active.

Any ideas?

That is strange. Are you using any kind of encryption
with the wireless connection? I have never had a problem
with it interfering but might want to try and refresh the
settings if you are. Are you using static IP addresses
on all 3 laptops? Also, is there any difference in the
IP settings of the wireless and the wired connection
settings of the XP machine? Do they use the same IP or a
different one? If you are using DHCP on the router that
you have and are utilizing it, you may want to check any
logs within the router to make sure that all the pcs are
registering correctly with the DHCP service on the
router. Hope this helps.

Try removing hotfix 826942 from your XP machine. Or if you want to keep
the hotfix, then make sure your router/card is WPA capable (firmware
upgrade may be necessary)
