Trying to connect to Campus wireless network ...My XP
Network Connection Properties is allowing me to put in my
Network key ... but it is not letting change the key
format to Hexadecimal digist or set key length to 40bits
on my network properties is just show the Network Key
field only. Do I need to update XP or is there a patch
out there to enable me to do this... I need these things
set to use the wireless network in Dorm room. I have an
HP pavilion ze5375us laptop with WindowXP home. It has an
embedded 802.11b wireless lan.
Thanks.

The key length determine the encryption strength. MS wanted to simplify it
and "just make it work" in SP1
