wireless networking

i am tring to set up a wireless home network. i have a
westell dsl modem, a linksys wireless access point router.
the problem is i can get the internet on my first and
second computer, but when i go to network connections to
set up a wireless network the tab for setting up a
wireless network is not there. i've been to the microsoft
web page and this is what it says to do for configuration.
is there a setting i need to set or a file i need to
download for the wireless tab to appear so that i can
configure my wireless network??????
 
usually. if the device is installed properly an icon
appears in (control panel) check your bios/cmos settings
for proper config.
