Does having a PC connected to a wireless router (which is connected to the
internet) give slower pings than a PC directly connected to a modem?

I should have specified what I meant - I mean the latency of pings.

To clarify, you want to compare a system connected directly to a
cable or dsl (or other broadband) modem with one using the
wireless link to a router?

If so, yes, the wirelessly linked system will suffer a few ms
higher ping time, even more if wireless link is poor.

Yes.
