I have configured my XP machine for networking, linking 2
other Windows 98 machines. I cannot see other pc's from
the XP machine. 1 of the '98's indicates that it is on the
network, but when I double-click, it only shows the 98
machine. Also, the CPU usage on the XP machine is
constantly showing 100% and then "locks up".

are you talking about peer-to-peer network?

if that's the case, only one computer (XP) can see the other (98A) .. but not (98B)

as for the 100% cpu usage, i think your mini-usb adapter has issue .. try updating the driver and or flash to the latest vendor's firmware :)
