Hi

I have a wireless Belkin 54g WAP with Belkin 54g Desktop network cards.

We are using windows 2000

On the wireless icon I get between 30mps to 54mps and the signal strength is
over 60%. and it says good siginal.

There are no other 54g WAP's in the area, and the only other 11b WAP is 3
channels away

We are using the most upto date North American drivers

the distance from the switch to the WAP is 30m

yet every now and then I get x's under the mapped drives and the database
that is using a mapped freezes.

and after a few minuets the connection is back again, any ideas to why this
is happening

regards

Try Wireless Update Rollup:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=826942

"The following problems are resolved by this update:
a.. You Experience a Long Delay When You Connect to a Wireless Network

When you connect to a wireless network by using 802.1x authentication,
your network connection may take between 30 and 60 seconds to be
established. This problem occurs because the Wireless Zero Configuration
service is delayed when it tries to start. The Wireless Zero Configuration
service does not start in a timely manner because it depends on the NETMAN
component, but the NETMAN component has not yet been loaded at startup."
