I have a friend who lives about a 800 meters away from me.
We want to connect our computers in a network so that we can
play games ... etc. What solutions we have and what is least expensive ?

Is there line of sight between your roof and his roof (ie. a straight line) ? If
so you can mod paytv antennas/sat dishes to work with wi-fi (google it). Then
all you need is a normal wireless access point (such as minitar or numerous
others).

External directional 802.11g(?) antenna

Generally they'll look like either a satellite dish, a
mashed-flat TV antenna, or a huge pringles' can.
