Ok so its a
BUFFALO WLI-PCM-L11/GP Wireless LAN Adapter or at least
thats what it says from the properties screen

on the box it says buffalo airstation wla-s11g

Im sorry im new to this..i know that i have to "check"
the the wep button and the iee button on the next tab to
make the dat encrypted but thats all i know.
i will freely admit this may be "user error" lol

please talk slowly!!

UNcheck 802.1x authentication -
UNcheck WEP key is supplied for you

Are you using XP or XP SP1 (the way you configure WEP changed). If you don't
have SP1 yet, please update.

Enter a HEX key on the airstation. Enter the same exact key in XP.

barb,
thats talking slow?
i think u overestimate me. "hex key on the airstation/xp"?

whats that? where is it on both? my guess is that its
needed for the encryption process but heaven only knows
how it works or what it does.
is there a guide somewhere?

i mean i only want this thing so i dont have wires going
across my living room! and that bit is ok..its just this
security part.
