I support four identical windows XP computers. All have the same BioStar
Motherboards and the same Intel processors. I tried to install a Microsoft
wireless keyboard and mouse on each computer. After first loading the
Intellipoint Drivers and restarting the computer, I plugged in the USB
transceiver. During the startup process, the keyboard is active because I
can use it to enter the BIOS and navigate everything as usual. Once Windows
XP SP2 starts, however, neither the keyboard nor the mouse works. The device
manager identifies the the keyboard and mouse and indicates that they are
working properly. The USB device list shows the transceiver is also
correctly identified and working properly.
After trying to set these up on three of the computers and getting the same
result, it finally worked on the fourth one, for some unknown reason. It is
identical to the other three, hardware-wise, and I have no idea why it works
on that one and not the others. Any suggestions? I've been going around in
circles for a few months over this and Microsoft has no idea what the problem
could be. They even replaced the three remaining keyboards on the chance
they might have been faulty, but the new keyboards and mice don't work
either. Help! Thanks very much for any suggestions.
