My wireless email works, but when I try to access my email, I get an error
message that it cannot find the pop-server.

If I connect to the router with a cable, the email works fine.

How do I fix?

Here is the full message, the same as when there is no internet connection.

Thanks!

The host 'pop-server' could not be found. Please verify that you have
entered the server name correctly.
Account: 'pop-server', Server: 'pop-server', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

You do not have a proper name for the server. Contact your email host to
find out what the settings should be.

"pop-server" is not the correct name for your incoming mail server.
Check with your Internet Service Provider (Time Warner Road Runner?)
for the correct server name.

It is the correct name. When I connect to the router with a wire, the email
works fine. When I am wire-less, I get the error message.

"pop-server" is not the complete name.

Use the full name, like "pop-server.roadrunner.com" (for me)
or "pop-server.columbus.rr.com" (or whatever locale you are in)

That worked.

Just out of curiosity, any reason it would work with a wire connection and
only "pop-server" as the server name?

Thanks Dave!

It is surprising that it *ever* worked with just "pop-server"
since obviously that's not a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN)
(see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FQDN).
Perhaps a local DNS server had that alias in its cache, and for
some reason the wireless connection was using a different DNS
server.
