I have previously connected to wireless internets at my friends' houses but
cannot connect now that I am at home. I have never connected at home.
However, I have two other computers that are running XP that are able to
connect. I have Vista on my laptop. The computer reads that there is
excellent strength but when I try to connect it says it is unable to because
of low connectivity. I have read their suggestions and have done them all. I
still can't connect. I am usually pretty good with computers as a lay person
but this really stumps me. Please help.

What's the make and model of the WiFi adapter? You might want to try
[microsoft. public. windows. networking. wireless]. Or check with the vendor,
and see if they are still working on an updated driver for Vista.

With wireless, the adapter could be reporting high signal strength, but high
noise too. Can you run NetStumbler on a non-Vista computer, and see what the
SNR is?
