Wireless internet and Microsoft Vista

Hi there - I purchased a new computer with Microsoft Vista Home Basic
installed last week. I can access the internet through a broadband
connection, however when I plug in our wireless router Vista recognises the
connection but will not display webpages. I have spoken to Microsoft twice,
Belkin, Acer and our ISP and noone can help me. I tried to install IE6 but
this wouldn't work. I don't really want to have to uninstall Vista and put XP
on instead but I think it might come to this if I want to use my wireless
connection. Is this a Vista problem or an IE7 problem? I really hope someone
can help me.

Thanks

Sarah:
Since you can connect with the internet with a cable plugged in
between the router and computer, it eliminates Vista, IE7, and ISP problems.
With the cable unplugged, left click the internet icon in the tray, click
connect to a network, the SSID for your wireless router should be listed.
After you connect to your router an option to automatically connect should
be available. Have a great day.

Adding to what Dennis said, Vista upgrade on my machine killed my wi-fi to
my router because I have been securing it and Vista lost my pass phrase. I
would think you use one as well (if you don't, you should) and that being
the case, your pass phrase to your router may be gone and need to be put
back, too.
