Wireless drops after 15-20 minutes

I just finished installing 5536 and now, my Motorola WPCI54G won't stay
connected for more than 15-20 minutes. It is able to stay connected to my
local network because I can browse to other PC's on my network, but it loses
internet. I have confirmed it isn't the router because my other systems on
the network don't lose internet connectivity when the Vista box does, and my
XP installation on the same hardware shows no problems.

I've tried to use the XP drivers but I get a blue screen error with
IRQL_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL when using it. The built-in Vista drivers show it as
being a Broadcom device, which I assume is the actual chip on the device,
versus the XP drivers saying it is a Motorola.

I have a Linksys USB wireless device that I haven't tested yet but I'm
hoping someone has a suggestion on what I can do.

OK, I think I fixed the issue. I ended up changing the power profile and set
the wireless to performance mode and it hasn't dropped since then.

hi omega,

have u tested with the linksys USB?? i am using one of those and facing
connectivity issues...

brgds

Yeah, I ended up having the problems again with the Motorola device. I think
it has something to do with the fact that the Motorola drivers boost the
signal pickup by about 10-15% and the integrated Vista ones do not.

In regards to the Linksys wireless adapter, I didn't have any major problems
with it. It is currently being used on my media center PC and it occasionally
drops connection but not so much that it is an annoyance.
