Wireless D-Link PCI adapter problem

I have two DWL520+ PCI cards in two different computers
running 2000 Pro and each exhibits the same problem. After
booting up the computer cannot view the rest of the
network. The properties of My Network Places is empty.
Not even Make new connection is there. The internet can
be seen and accessed OK. The real weird thing is that
Windows Explorer cannot copy, paste or manipulate files.
Now if you manually disable the network card and reboot
and then manually enable the card. Everything works as it
should. As long as you remember to disable the card
before you shut down you are saved a big step next time
you get on the computer. D-Link has abandoned me to my
own devices on this trouble call. Other information is
the router is DI 614+ and a laptop with a US Robotics card
connects fine.
Thanks for any suggestion.

Try going into the advanced properties of each NIC, and
setting the LinkSpeed (or equivalent) to autonegotiate.
The try 10mbps. The try 100 mbps. Is the behaviour
consistent? Your description suggests that the nic's can't
talk to other nics, but that the router/gateway device is
smart enough to auto negotiate with the client.

Hope this helps
