My daughter has just acquired a laptop from a friend. It runs on Ubuntu which is a bit of a mystery to me. The internal wi fi card is kaput so we tried to get it going with a dongle. This has always been very easy, and successful, with Windows but not with Linux.
It took ages to find the driver for the dongle but eventually I got it downloaded. I thought that when I attached the dongle that some Wizard would appear as in Windows but oh no!
Basically I can't find a way of getting the dongle attached to the driver. Can't even find where the driver is! There is no Program Files section that I can find. I can't find anything like Network Connections in Windows either.
Anyone help me?
