Hi
I have recently changed my connection to wireless on my laptop and I can
access the internet through my browser with no problems.
When I try to connect and receive or send my mail, windows mail doesn't
recognize a connection.
In reading the other posts, I see that to fix this problem, it appears that
I should enter my account properties and then connections and leave this
section blank.
However, when I enter into the accounts properties and I select the
connection tab, the widnows mail program freezes and then begins "not
responding"

Any help or ideas for this?

Thanks in advance.

That symptom means your mail account has been corrupted. Delete
the account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

Thanks,
I actually manahed to find some of your other posts on other forums to help
with this problem.
I have deleted and re-instated the account and I managed to retrieve my
messages but not I cannot send messages.
Any advise for fixing this?

the error message reads as follows:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account:
'mail.mercerconsulting.ca', Server: 'mail.mercerconsulting.ca', Protocol:
SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10013, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Thanks

Mercerconsulting is not your ISP. As such, your home ISP will block
your use of any port 25 SMTP server other than their own.
For an explanation of this anti-spamming policy, see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

To send from home, you will have to substitute your home ISP's
SMTP server. If you need help with that, let us know who your
home ISP is.
