I have XP Home installed on 1.4 Ghz server but can't get
Laptop wireless connections to access the internet using
IE. I can "net use" and copy, read, delete files and
directories on the Server from the Laptop.
I've tried the tips included here to no avail.. even
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;314066 did not resolve the issue.
Here is the environment:
Server (XP Home), 1 Enet Adapter, Starband connected via
USB. (this works fine so there's no hardware issues)
192.168.0.1
Linksys wireless Access Point connected to same hub as
Server. 192.168.1.251 (I can "configure" using the Linksys
code from the laptop, but not from the Server when the
Starband connection is Enabled.
Laptop wireless, 192.168.1.20, I can Ping the Access Point
and the server as well as transfer files.
Initially the Server would only access Internet when the
Enet card was disabled. I then ADDED "starband.net" as
the DNS name to use and the Server began to communicate
when both adapters were Enabled. Is this some type of
Route issue? Thanks...
