Wireless auto config problem

A neighbor just installed a new wireless lan this weekend. My computer now detects this lan and prompts me every 3 minutes to select from the multple wireless networks available. This is quite irritating as is drops my existing preferred connection. My network is in the preferred list and the neighbors only shows up in the available list. Other than stopping the Wireless Zero configuration service (which does stop the problem) how do I get Windows XP to stick with my preferred connection and not drop my network connection every 3 minutes?
