Hi, my Wireless Network Access Point (WNAP)does not broadcast ita SSID, so
now Vista does not want to connct, even though I have already defined it (in
manage wireless networks).

Management does not want to change the setting on the WNAP, because
broadcasting it will make people wanna try to hack into it.
Is there any way for Vista to still connect to it?
If it can't it is definately many steps backward for an otherwise awesome
product.

Hi,

Did you set the network profile so that Vista will connect even though the
SSID is not broadcasted?

to make sure please do the following:

1) open network and sharing center
2) click on "manage wireless networks" task on the left
3) right click on the wireless profile that you created, and click on
"properties" in the context menu
4) you will see properties window. in the "connection" tab please make sure
"connect even if the network is not broadcasting" checkbox is checked. (if
not please check it)

Doing so, Windows will connect to the cloaked networks. if you continue to
fail to connect, then make sure your security settings are correct.

also, checking "connect automatically when this network is in range"
checkbox will be helpful for you. Vista will not prompt you to connect to
the network.

hope this helps
