Is this possible?
I've gone through all the troubleshooters and read everyone's advice for
over 2 weeks and still cannot get my two computers to talk to each other.
I have an older Dell Dimension XPS T700 with a Realtek RTL 8139 Family PCI
Fast Ethernet NIC running WinXP. The other computer is a new Dell Dimension
4600 with an Intel (R) Pro/100 VE Network Connection also running WinXP.
I've got them connected via a crossover cable. I'm learning this as I go so
please, any advice needs to be on a beginner level.
I've run the Wizard several times and actually had them talking to each
other at the beginning (albeit very slow) but now there is nothing, zip, no
pings, nothing happening either way which is why I'd like to start fresh.
Is it possible to wipe clean all the settings I've done in my attempts to
"fix" the problem and start over? And if not what can I do? I don't think
there is a troubleshooter I haven't tried.
Thanks
