can pull from the PC before the wipe to be able to to reinstall another
source?
Also, this PC had been upgarded with Office 07 have my product key, but the
key is for an Upgrade version, how do i reinstall if it is going to search
for my old version?

so i'm going to someones website to access my Product Key?
Have kept that pc disconnected from the web because of the virus.

Try Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
It does a good job of providing a wealth of information.

Here are three other utilities which will also display your product key:
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html
and RockXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html which has additional
features

Note: Also check the side of your PC case or bottom of the laptop for the
OEM key code. If there is a sticker with the code it will most likely not
match what is displayed by the utilities mentioned above as OEMs such as
Dell use an internal
key code when they build your PC.

The key code on the sticker is for use with your Windows CD that hopefully
came with your PC.

Ouch! Please don't yell at us. We can hear you if type normally, in
mixed case.

BUT THIS BUGGER HAS MODIFIED THE SYSTEM WHERE
IT WILL NOT LET ME FORMAT C:

You can't format the Windows drive from within Windows, since that
would leave Windows without a leg to stand on.

Just boot from the Windows XP CD (change the BIOS boot order if
necessary to accomplish this) and follow the prompts for a clean
installation (delete the existing partition by pressing "D" when
prompted, then create a new one).

You can find detailed instructions here:
