By their nature, pictures are already compressed. Zipping them will make
little difference.

| For example, at home where I use Outlook Express, I click on a picture
that
| is 1.8 MB and select "email this file" and then choose to "make my picture
| smaller." When it gets attached to my blank email screen, the picture is
| now 27 KB which is quite a space saver.

| However, when I right click on that same 1.8 MB photo and choose to send
it
| to a compressed folder and then choose to email that folder, it is only
down
| to 1.35 MB in size. Not exactly the help my son was looking for when
trying
| to make the pictures smaller to email.
