is called Quickzip & you can download it from http://www.quickzip.org/
. Quickzip is my current archiver & it is great & it supports the 7-Zip
file compression which compresses better than Zip, Rar, Ace, et al.

There are several freeware winzip-like programs to choose from. I like
using ZipCentral.

Many sites list freeware zip programs for downloading.
Snapfiles is one.

Never a free version but free upgrades for life that is until Corel bought
it out (from Niko Maki the author). I've had it since the original version
way back and have not gone to V10 because I would have to pay for the
upgrade and the limited new features does not justify doing so.
So, until Corel gives a good reason, there are many free zip programs that
are just as good or even better.
