I'm level 1 tech support at a state college in NY, and my
boss has just charged me with figuring out whether or not
it's possible to add a Windows XP machine to our domain
so that things like WinVNC can be used. Our college is
looking toward making all machines log in to the network,
but when she tried adding that particular user who had
WinXP Home edition, it wouldn't work.

I'm not even sure where to begin to look, other than
here. Could someone point me in the right direction?

XP Home Edition can't join a domain or log into a domain. It can
connect to a domain and access domain resources. For details, please
